The Director General of the Rustaveli Foundation hosted Kaian Belkania, a young scientist interested in astronomy

On July 26, Zviad Gabisonia, Director General of Greater Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, presented a telescope and books on astronomy as a gift to Kaian Belkania, an exceptionally talented student of Tsalenjikha Public School No. 2 with a keen interest in natural sciences and astronomy. However, this will not be a one-time initiative; the Foundation will continue to support the gifted child interested in science in the future and help him expand his knowledge. The Rustaveli Foundation will donate to him all books published in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics with the Foundation's funding. In the future, the Foundation will also ensure the talented student's free access to the "Elsevier" international scientific database, where he will be able to search for all necessary information. The Director of the Foundation also invited Kaian Belkania to the International Festival of Science and Innovation, which will be held in September of this year.
The meeting was attended by Professor Maia Todua, Director of the Abastumani Observatory, who presented the student with a book on astronomy and taught him how to use the telescope to observe celestial bodies.
One of the primary goals and priorities of the Rustaveli Foundation is the popularization of science among students and youth. Therefore, by the decision of the Foundation's management, it will comprehensively support the talented student in expanding his knowledge in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics.
