Conference "Development of the Creative Clusters Ecosystem"
At Fabrika (conference space - Jungle Room), the conference โDevelopment of the Creative Clusters Ecosystemโ was opened. Levan Kharatishvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, attended the opening of the conference.
Within the framework of the conference, the experiences, challenges, and potential related to the establishment of creative spaces, hubs, and clusters were discussed. The first session of the conference was dedicated to discussing the policies, needs, and benefits of state and international organizations focused on the development of creative spaces, while the second session focused on sharing practical examples of creative space initiatives.
The project โDevelopment of the Creative Clusters Ecosystemโ aims to promote the development of creative hubs, clusters, and multifunctional spaces in Georgia. Within the framework of the project, a strategy and action plan will be developed. In addition, it is planned to study the needs of the creative sector and determine the economic, cultural, and socio-urban benefits that Georgia will receive as a result of the development of such spaces.
Over the course of two years, international and local experts involved in the project will develop practical recommendations that will contribute to the development of more creative spaces across the country. The implementation process of the project involves Lidia Varbanova (Bulgaria), UNESCO International Expert in Strategic Planning, Entrepreneurship, and Cultural Policy, and Nikoloz Nadirashvili, Local Expert in Cultural Policy.
The project for the development of the creative clusters ecosystem is in line with the strategic directions of โCulture Strategy 2025โ, which implies the creation of a favorable environment for the development of creative industries in Georgia, the production of high-quality, competitive products, and the improvement of services. This project is implemented by the LEPL Creative Georgia within the framework of the EU-funded project โEU/UNESCO Expert Facility on the Governance of Culture in Developing Countriesโ, the aim of which is to support 12 countries in the development of culture and creative industries.
