An international seminar was held within the framework of the European Union program

An ERASMUS+ contact seminar was held with the aim of promoting direct communication between Georgian and European universities for the development of partnership projects. The seminar was attended by 57 representatives from 46 universities across 11 European countries, and nearly 100 representatives from 44 Georgian universities.
Erasmus+ is a European Union program that supports cooperation between Georgia and European countries in the field of higher education.
"A very important element of the Erasmus+ program is institutional cooperation, through which our students receive grants to implement joint Master's and Doctoral programs. This seminar serves to strengthen cooperation in order to fully utilize the potential that the Erasmus+ program and the European Union possess in the higher education sector," stated Irina Abuladze, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia.
According to data for 2015–2019, 41 Georgian universities are involved in the Erasmus+ program, 30 institutional cooperation projects have been implemented, 110 Master's scholarships have been awarded, 4,775 scholarships have been provided for Georgian students and professors, and 2,725 scholarships for students and professors coming to Georgia from Europe. In addition to the Erasmus+ regional budget, Georgia has additionally secured 3.5 million Euros, which will be used for student and professor exchange scholarship programs — translating to approximately 800 additional scholarship recipients.
