Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, spoke about the role and importance of Kutaisi International University in the development of Georgian science.
While delivering a speech at the 2019 summary event of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli noted that Kutaisi International University will be a truly European educational space, in the academic life of which Georgian scientists working abroad will actively participate.
“When speaking about Georgian science and its development, I would like to particularly highlight Kutaisi International University, which is entirely funded by the Cartu Foundation.
A hadron therapy center will be established on the basis of the university, where, alongside the treatment of oncological diseases, extremely great attention will be paid to the scientific research process. Alongside Georgian professors, professors from leading world universities will participate in university life, and joint research will be carried out in the fields of medicine, medical physics, and nuclear physics,” stated Mikheil Chkhenkeli.
