New projects in inclusive vocational education will be introduced starting from 2020

Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, attended a summary meeting dedicated to the topic of inclusive vocational education.
At the event, held with the support of the organization "Save the Children", the participants discussed both the projects already implemented in 2019 regarding inclusive vocational education and those planned for 2020.
As Tamar Kitiashvili emphasized, under the initiative of introducing inclusive vocational education, not only a new regulatory act was developed in 2019, but the number of involved parties was also expanded, and the services and mechanisms that facilitate the participation of persons with diverse educational needs were refined. However, this is not sufficient; starting from 2020, the Ministry will launch a new program that envisions inclusive education as a broader concept, implying not only the participation of persons with disabilities and special educational needs, but also offering services and mechanisms tailored to the relevant needs of various types of socially vulnerable individuals.
The summary meeting also presented a profession analysis tool created to support the vocational orientation of persons with special educational needs, as well as video clips introducing various professions based on universal design principles.
The meeting was attended by directors of vocational colleges and specialists in inclusive vocational education, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations and other invited guests.
