Cooperation with the European Union will continue in order to develop key competences at the general and vocational education levels

Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, participated in the discussion of the results of a study implemented with the support of the European Union, which relates to issues concerning the development of key competences at the general and vocational education levels. The discussion was attended by education experts, representatives of local and international organizations working in the field, and other interested parties.
During the discussion of the European Union study results, the parties spoke about Georgia's national curriculum and vocational education standards in relation to the European Framework of Key Competences.
According to Tamar Kitiashvili, the study clearly demonstrated that at the level of standards and national curricula, key competences are adequately represented, although certain challenges exist in the implementation process. Appropriate recommendations were issued by the European Training Foundation, which will be taken into account by the Ministry.
It is noteworthy that promoting the development of key competences at the general and vocational education levels will be one of the important priorities of future cooperation between the European Union and the Ministry.
