The German Children's Fund will implement new projects in Georgia's public schools

Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, held a working meeting with the representatives of the German Children's Fund in Georgia – Executive Director Nino Ositashvili and Advisor Guy de Fontgalland. The aforementioned foundation is a member organization of the ChildFund Alliance, whose mission is to support socially vulnerable children and protect their rights.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the plan for expanding the foundation's future activities in Georgia. The representation of the German Children's Fund in Georgia was opened in October 2019, and its core activities include supporting non-formal education in schools and human resource development. Since its establishment, the foundation has conducted educational trainings in cooperation with 5 public schools (Maghariskari, Barisakho, Mejvriskhevi, Gori, and Ditsi), aimed at raising awareness among students in the field of social entrepreneurship and introducing modern approaches to agriculture.
According to Executive Director Nino Ositashvili, starting from the next academic year, the foundation will expand its activities to 20 more schools across five regions of Georgia. In addition, it will establish libraries in two schools – Barisakho and Maghariskari – and ensure they are equipped with appropriate inventory.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli thanked the local representatives of the German Children's Fund for their support of the Georgian education system and pledged support regarding the expansion of their activities.
The ChildFund International was founded in 1938. It operates in 24 countries worldwide through 326 local partners and is recognized as a high-rating international charitable organization.
