"Diverse Georgia" in the village of Shaumiani

Within the framework of the project "Diverse Georgia", cultural and educational events were held in the village of Shaumiani, Marneuli Municipality. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the activities were conducted in an open space, taking all recommendations into account.

A number of events were organized for the youth living in Shaumiani: a presentation was held for the collection "Dialogue in the Language of Poetry" by poet Viktor Hovsepyan, translated into Georgian by Givi Shahnazari and Mavala Gonashvili, which was published with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia; exhibitions featuring local artists were also organized. The events concluded with a concert by the "Movement Theatre Band" and Tigran Mghdesian, a musician from Akhalkalaki.

The events planned in the village of Shaumiani were held with the support of the Marneuli Culture Center, the Shaumiani Community Education Center, and the "Hovhannes Tumanyan House".

With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, the project "Diverse Georgia", initiated by the LEPL Giorgi Leonidze Museum of Georgian Literature, has been implemented since August 31, 2020. The aim of the project is to promote the integration of ethnic minorities living in Georgia into society and to raise awareness among young people.
