At the age of 76, Ushguli-born artist and painter Fridon Nizharadze has passed away
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia expresses its deep sorrow over the death of artist Fridon Nizharadze and extends its condolences to his family, relatives, and the Georgian public.
The artist dedicated his entire life to Svaneti, capturing its uniqueness on numerous canvases. The artist's talent and genius were also expressed in his poems and woodwork.
Fridon Nizharadze's first personal exhibition was held in 2019 at the Tbilisi History Museum. To this day, the artist's brilliant works are exhibited in his modest home studio in Svaneti, evoking great admiration among art and painting enthusiasts.
