"Tbilisi Baroque Festival" to be held in a remote format

From November 20-25, supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, the 6th Tbilisi Baroque Festival will be held in a remote format.
Taking into account the regulations developed for the prevention of the coronavirus pandemic, the festival will be held in a different format this year and will be held without a live audience. The scheduled concerts can be listened to on the official Facebook page of the Tbilisi Baroque Festival and on the TV channel "Silk Universal".
On November 20, the festival will be opened together with the "Georgian Sinfonietta" by the world-renowned musician and bassoonist Sergio Azzolini, who is already well-known to the Georgian public. Works by Albinoni, Vivaldi, Geminiani and Cattaneo will be performed.
Online lectures are also planned within the framework of the festival; the audience will have the opportunity to listen to interesting discussions by professors Nodar Ladaria and David Gigineishvili, as well as artist Gia Bugadze, about various ongoing processes in the Baroque era.
On November 22, the Giorgi Alexidze "Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet" will present Mariam Alexidze's online educational video-performance – "Giorgi Alexidze's Neo-Baroque", which will talk about Giorgi Alexidze's dance style, while the troupe will present compositions staged by Giorgi Alexidze to the music of Baroque period composers.
The festival will conclude on November 25. The Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra will offer the audience a concert entitled "Italian Concerts", where the orchestra's musicians will perform as soloists and present works by Vivaldi, Corelli, Marcello and Handel.
The supporters of the "Tbilisi Baroque Festival" are: the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall and the Embassy of Italy in Georgia. The organizer of the festival is the Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra.
