Mikheil Chkhenkeli: "I wholeheatedly congratulate first-graders on their first steps into school life and wish them success"

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli congratulated first-graders on the beginning of the academic year, and pupils, teachers, students, professors and the entire academic community on the resumption of the learning process in classrooms and lecture halls.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli: “I congratulate pupils, teachers, students, lecturers – the entire academic community – on the resumption of the educational process in classrooms and lecture halls.
I cordially congratulate first-graders on their first steps into school life and wish them success.
As you know, today first-graders are beginning the new academic year directly in the school environment. This decision was made by the Ministry of Education and Science based on the best interests of the children and is grounded in the pedagogical view that a first-grader's initial school experience is best conducted in a classroom environment, surrounded by classmates and teachers.
Continuing the educational process in classrooms and lecture halls under pandemic conditions is a very significant achievement that needs to be preserved. To this end, it is essential to strictly follow healthcare recommendations and engage even more actively in the universal immunization process. Every representative of the education sector – pupils, teachers, students, professors and, of course, parents – must realize their share of responsibility and take care of their own health and the health of others.
Once again, I congratulate you and wish you health, a productive and interesting academic year!“
