Ekaterine Dgebuadze inspected the ongoing learning process at Tbilisi Public School No. 60

First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Ekaterine Dgebuadze visited Tbilisi Public School No. 60, where she evaluated the measures implemented to ensure a safe learning environment, personally congratulated teachers and students on their return to classrooms, and wished them a successful academic year.
As the First Deputy Minister noted, general education institutions are fully mobilized for virus prevention, a large portion of school staff is vaccinated, and administration representatives, teachers, students, and parents meticulously observe all regulations developed by the Ministry of Health. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the student attendance rate is quite high.
While speaking with teachers and students, Ekaterine Dgebuadze emphasized the necessity of returning the educational process to classrooms. According to her, the school plays a decisive role in the development of adolescents, as it is the primary place for children's socialization. Consequently, the Ministry of Education will utilize all available resources to ensure that this academic year, just like the previous one, concludes within classrooms.
Ekaterine Dgebuadze: “We already have considerable experience in managing the pandemic within the school space, and I am confident that we will successfully overcome all challenges. We will actively continue monitoring safety standards in schools, as well as the vaccination process for school staff and mandatory testing for teachers, which will help us maintain a safe learning environment in schools.“
We would like to remind you that on October 4, by the decision of the Coordination Council, the educational process in schools resumed in a natural environment, inside classrooms. Prior to the start of the academic year, the Ministry of Education and Science provided public general education institutions with all necessary resources for virus prevention – a supply of disinfectants, face masks, thermal screening devices, and disinfection barriers.
