Employment of People with Disabilities
A meeting was held at Radisson hotel where the issue of “promotion of an employment of people with disabilities in cooperation with interested counterparts”. The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Affairs of Georgia and the Social Service Agency. The first deputy minister Ketevan Natriashvili, representatives of economic sector, nongovernmental organizations and employers participated in the meeting.
A Rehabilitation of a Public School at Baileti Sillage is on Progress
A minister of education and science Tamar Sanikidze continues studying of infrastructure projects. This time the minister visited a school at Baileti village (Ozurgeti) - she met teachers and pupils and examined the process of rehabilitation of the school.
School Contests Dedicated to the Jubilee of Akaki
By the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Social Affairs of Georgia, in dedication of 175 years jubilee of Akaki Tsereteli contests were held with slogan “Akaki in Modern Reality”. An exhibition of art-works and the winners’ award ceremony has been held todaythe activities were attended by the minister of education and science Tamar Sanikidze and the minister of culture and monument protection Mikheil Giorgadze.
Meeting with Jülich Research Centre
A meeting was held in scope of strategic cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and German Jülich Research Centre (FZJ). The meeting was led by the minister of education and science Tamar Sanikidze.
Presentation of School Infrastructure Projects
A proper school infrastructure is a premise of improved study. The ministry has fully studied the infrastructure of public schools and as a result maintenance and rehabilitation works were planned and started in 2013. Tamar Sanikidze has held a presentation for journalists today were she spoke about infrastructure projects in detail and answered all their questions.
Grant Contest of Development of Professional Education
Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia in scope of a project “Professional Education for Economic Development” launches a grant contest for educational establishments. A presentation of the project has been held today and it’s been led by its manager David Hendle. The event was attended by minister of education and science Tamar Sanikidze, executive manager of Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia Magda Maghradze, a deputy of a regional vice-president of the USA Millennium Account Corporation in Europe, Asia and Latin America Phatima Sumar and other guests.
Meeting with Representative of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)
Minister of education and science Tamar Sanikidze met Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State Phatima Sumar and othr representatives of the corporation. The goal of the project was a discussion of programs under the second $140 million Compact between the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
Decreasing the Risk of Catastrophes on Educational Filed of Georgia
By the initiative of Department of National Curriculums of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia a coordinative meeting “Decreasing the Risk of Catastrophes on Educational Filed of Georgia” was held in Batumi. The meeting was powered by ECHO and German international organization “Arbeiter-Saamriter” (ASB).
Yet another international success of Georgian pupils
Members of Georgian national team in mathematics (6 participants) have returned from 56th International Mathematics Olympiad 2015 (Thailand, Chiang Mai) with 4 medals and 1 diploma. Zaur Meshveliani (N199 Komarov Public School in physics and mathematics) has won silver medal. It should be noted that in previous Olympiad he also was awarded with silver medal.
The "Ivlita Library" opened in Chokhatauri
On July 19, on a birthday of Ivlita Jibuti, who perished during a disaster in Tbilisi, the library of her name opened in Chokhatauri. The library was created with the help of initiative and efforts made by Media-house "Guria news", National Parliamentary Library of Georgia and youth.
Center for parasport promotion opened
Tamar Sanikidze, Misinter of Education and Science of Georgia, attended a ceremony of parasport promotion center opening in Tbilisi. The centre was inaugurated by Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania and Tariel Khechikashvili, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia. Yet another ultramodern sport complex was added to Tbilisi.
Presentation of school readiness program was held in Kutaisi
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri presented the school readiness educational program to the trainees of the Zurab Zhvania State School of Public Administration as representatives of local self-government. A unified consolidated strategy for the implementation of a continuous education system was developed by the Ministry of Education.
Shota Rustaveli Foundation has new Supervisory Board
Shota Rustaveli Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia from April 21, 2015 is working with new Charter. As a result of ongoing re-organization, new collective body was established - Supervisory Board members of which for the first time became renowned foreign and Georgian scientists, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and Deputy Minister.
School sports Olympiad ends
For the first time, school sports Olympiad was held in current year. Public school teams from 11 cities - Tbilisi, Batumi, Mtskheta, Gori, Rustavi, Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Zugdidi and Ambrolauri - were participating in Olympic competitions.
Public defense of master works in educational administration was held
In the Ilia State University, public defense of master works in training of basic and high school subject teacher and in educational administration was held which was attended by Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Deputy Minister Giorgi Shervashidze, representatives of international organizations, directors of schools, professors of various universities and those teachers who were involved in research of practice.
Austria will share with us experience in tourism sphere
Delegation of Austrian Federal Ministry of Transportation and Innovations and representatives of private sector is visiting Georgia. Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and her Deputy Giorgi Sharvashidze met with Austrian guests.
Labs of industrial innovations will be established
With the effort of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, in recent years, the role of professional education in development of entrepreneurship has significantly increased. For this purpose, the Ministry, along with Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia, is working on new module of entrepreneurship which envisages establishment of "Fab Labs" (Fabrication Laboratory) - labs of industrial innovations. Laboratories will be equipped with modern, high technologies and instruments controlled by computers.

Concluding conference on primary educational project
In connection with the end of pilot period for Primary Educational Project (G-PriED) of Georgia, one-day concluding conference with participation of pilot schools directors was held. Piloting of primary education project of USAID was going on since 2013 and its purpose was introduction and implementation of innovative teaching, oriented on pupil.
