Statement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia clarifies that the introduction of the rule for suspending a student's status is related to the transparency of the voucher funding system, which prevents the misuse of budget funds in both public and private schools. The goal of the Ministry is to ensure that every tetri allocated for children's education is spent purposefully.
According to the Minister's Order "On the Approval of the Rules for Enrolling a Student in a General Educational Institution and Suspending a Student's Status," if, despite warnings from the school to the student, parent, or legal representative, the student does not appear at school for 6 months, receives no evaluations, and has not registered as an external student, their student status will be suspended.
A student's status will be suspended for as long as they desire. Both the suspension and the restoration of status will be carried out upon the very first application.
