More than 60 foreigners to learn the Georgian language within the framework of the summer school
During the summer months, more than 60 foreigners will learn the Georgian language in Georgia. The program will be implemented with the funding of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, within the framework of the grant competition "Summer School of Kartvelology" of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
4 different groups will visit Georgia in July, August, and September. Foreigners interested in Kartvelological sciences will study the Georgian language on-site, get acquainted with ancient and modern Georgian culture, history, and traditions, and tour various regions and sights of Georgia. Highly qualified scientists will conduct theoretical and practical classes for foreign students both individually and in groups.

The projects will be implemented at the bases of the National Centre of Manuscripts, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, the Georgian National Museum, and Cross-Cultural Universum (CCU).
The aim of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation's competition is to attract foreign researchers to the scientific field of Kartvelology and, in general, to popularize Kartvelology in the world's scientific centers.
The competition has been held since 2009. It is noteworthy that foreign graduates of the program actively work in the field of Kartvelology, and some of them even translate Georgian literature.
