An International Summer School has opened at the National Centre of Manuscripts
Eighteen foreign nationals have started learning the Georgian language at the National Centre of Manuscripts. The program is implemented within the framework of the grant competition "Summer School in Kartvelian Studies" by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. Sulkhan Sisauri, General Director of the Foundation, attended the opening of the school today.
The project involves foreigners interested in the Georgian language and script. The special curriculum includes both academic and cultural-educational courses. Theoretical and practical classes will be conducted by highly qualified scientists.
For ten days, students from the USA, Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia, Poland, Turkey, Macedonia, Iran, and Armenia will live in a Georgian environment, explore various regions of Georgia, and get acquainted with Georgian culture.
This year, the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation will fund four summer schools from the state budget. The aim of the project is to involve foreign researchers in Kartvelian scientific fields and to popularize Kartvelian studies in scientific centers worldwide.
