"Macmillan" trainings have started
Since September 2011, primary school students in Georgia have been learning English using textbooks created by Macmillan, one of the world's leading publishing houses. This year, for the first time starting from the new academic year, these textbooks will also be introduced in grades 7-12.
In accordance with the memorandum signed with Macmillan, training for English language teachers of Tbilisi public schools is underway at the Teacher House. Simultaneously, trainings are also being conducted in other regions of Georgia. The trainings are delivered to the teachers by qualified British specialists.
The training course covers the following areas: integrated learning methods, which involve processing texts from various subjects in English, the use of online resources, class management, lesson planning, and others.
By the end of August, 4,800 teachers across Georgia will be retrained within the framework of the trainings. They will receive textbooks, supporting audio, video, and visual materials free of charge.
