Khatia Dekanoidze visited the Kakheti region

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Khatia Dekanoidze visited the Kakheti region today. The Minister inspected Public Schools No. 7 and No. 3 of Telavi, Public School No. 1 of the village of Apeni, as well as the public schools of Chabukiani, Vachnadziani, and Vazisubani, which were damaged by the natural disaster, and observed the rehabilitation works underway. The Minister also met with the local population and inquired about their problems.

Up to 20 public schools were damaged as a result of the natural disaster in the Kakheti region. Strong winds blew off the roofs of the schools and shattered the window glass.

At this stage, rehabilitation works are underway in all damaged schools in order to rectify the situation in the shortest possible time and ensure that the public schools welcome the new academic year with renewed infrastructure.
