Trainings in the New Subject
Starting from the new academic year, a new subject, "Basics of Natural Sciences," is being introduced in schools. Intensive trainings have already begun at the Teacher House, within the framework of which teachers from all schools in Georgia will be trained.
The new subject combines the basics of biology, chemistry, and physics, and prepares students for studying each of them. Starting from 2012, it will be introduced in the 7th grade of all schools, after which students will study each subject separately and in full.
During the trainings, educators learn teaching methods based on the integrated textbook, with the assistance of the book authors themselves. Each teacher is being trained in teaching and combining the basics of chemistry, physics, and biology according to the textbook. The trainings last for three days and will be attended by educators from both private and public schools.
