Another International Success by a Georgian Student
Mariam Bichoshvili, a 7th-grade student at Ivane Javakhishvili Rustavi Georgian Gymnasium No. 24, became the Grand Prix winner for the best performance of Revaz Lagidze's "Sachidao". In July 2012, she participated in the international children's contest "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk 2012" held in Belarus.
Irine Kurdadze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, awarded Mariam Bichoshvili a portable computer, while Zakaria Darchiashvili, Mayor of Rustavi, presented her with a music center.
Mariam is raised in a large family, is an honors student, and participates in mathematical competitions and literary events. Mariam is also endowed with exceptional musical talent; in 2008, she won first place in the song contest "Melody 2008". Her next success was becoming a finalist in the 5th season of the children's musical project "Ana-Bana" in 2009. In 2010, she won first place in the children's festival "Mkhiruli Notebi". In 2011, she also won a prize-winning place at the European dance competition.
According to Irine Kurdadze, encouraging every talented student is a priority for the Ministry; therefore, such students will not remain without special attention from the Ministry in the future either.
