A new public school will be built in Mukhrani
Giga Umekashvili, Head of the Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, presented the construction project of a new school at Mukhrani Public School N1 in the Mtskheta Municipality. The construction of the new public school will begin in December of this year, and the tender will be announced on October 28. The new educational building will comply with modern standards, featuring a heating system, sports and assembly halls, a library, as well as information technology and natural science classrooms. The three-story building, designed for 240 students, is adapted for children with special educational needs and is equipped with special ramps and an elevator.
As for the existing building of Mukhrani Public School N2, it is dilapidated, having been built at the beginning of the last century, and is in an emergency condition, due to which classes are no longer held there. Currently, the school has been optimized with Mukhrani Public School N1, where students have to study in cramped and inadequate conditions.
Today, Giga Umekashvili presented the new public school project to the students and teachers of both public schools. According to the schedule, students of the Mukhrani school will be able to continue their studies in the new educational building in one year.
Mukhrani Public School is one of the nine schools whose construction will be initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia this year. Among them, the construction of another new public school is starting in the Mtskheta Municipality. The construction of an educational building designed for 450 students in the village of Tsilkani will also begin this year.
