The winners of the blog contest were awarded
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri awarded the winning schools in the school blog competition “Get to Know My Region”. The winners included students from schools in Telavi, Rustavi, Zugdidi, Khashuri, Mestia, Kutaisi, and Tbilisi.
The school blog competition was held within the framework of the “Program for Encouraging Particularly Talented Youth” and focused on students studying their local environment, highlighting the positive aspects of their region, village, or city, identifying existing problems, and applying the knowledge and skills acquired in various subjects. Students were required to present the researched information in a structured manner in the form of a blog.
The blogs were required to present information on two main directions:
1. The historical and current state and characteristics of the local environment.
2. An analysis of current problems and needs.
The information gathered by the students covered a rather broad spectrum, specifically: environmental, economic, and social issues, traditions, historical and ethnographic features, and others. The students also formulated their own vision regarding the prospects and future development of the environment.
