Scientific Forum at TSU

An annual scientific forum dedicated to the memory of Ivane Javakhishvili was held at Tbilisi State University, with the participation of Giorgi Sharvashidze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia.

At the forum, the best reports selected by the faculty commissions were presented by their authors – TSU professors, honorary doctors, and research fellows. One paper was presented from each faculty. The authors of the reports participating in the forum were awarded certificates and a financial incentive in the amount of 5,000 GEL. Parallel to the forum, an exhibition dedicated to Ivane Javakhishvili, titled "The Sole Knight", was held at the TSU Museum.

The annual scientific forum dedicated to the memory of Ivane Javakhishvili was established on the initiative of Vladimer Papava, Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician.

"It is gratifying that a scientific conference was held at Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Today, for the first time, very large grants were awarded, which will be received by researchers. This is a recognition of the contribution made by our professors and a great incentive for young scientists to work in the directions developed at TSU," noted Giorgi Sharvashidze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science.

The event was also attended by representatives of the National Academy of Sciences, governmental and legislative structures.

The prominent Georgian scientist and public figure, founder of the first Georgian university Ivane Javakhishvili was born on April 23, 1876. In 2014, the Georgian public celebrates the 138th anniversary of the scientist's birth.

23.10.2026გაეროს მდგრადი განვითარების თანამშრომლობის ჩარჩოს შედეგების ჯგუფის სამუშაო შეხვედრა გაიმართასაქართველოს განათლების, მეცნიერებისა და ახალგაზრდობის მინისტრის მოადგილის, ბაია კვიციანისა და გაეროს ბავშვთა ფონდის (UNICEF) წარმომადგენლის, იზაბელა კასტროჯოვანის თანათავმჯდომარეობით, „გაეროს მდგრადი განვითარების თანამშრომლობის ჩარჩოს (2026–2030)“ მეორე შედეგების ჯგუფის — „განათლება, ჯანდაცვა და სოციალური დაცვა“ — სამუშაო შეხვედრა გაიმართა.
