Within the framework of the joint project "A Letter to Soldiers" by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Defense, a few months ago, students of grades IV-V from 75 public schools of Georgia sent nearly 700 letters of support to the soldiers participating in the "ISAF" operation in Afghanistan.

Georgian soldiers have already replied to some of the cards. Today, the Deputy Ministers of Education and Science, Justice, and Defense of Georgia visited the 87th Public School of Tbilisi and handed over letters from Georgian soldiers stationed in Afghanistan to the IV-V grade students. The participants of the event also watched video footage from Afghanistan, where Georgian soldiers do not hide the emotions they experienced upon reading the children's letters.

The goal of the project "A Letter to Soldiers" is to support the servicemen far from their homeland and to strengthen civic responsibility among adolescents.

At the end of the event, the guests informed the students about the launch of yet another new project – "Our Soldiers". Within the framework of the project, students will create thematic essays. The winning students will be awarded by the Ministry of Defense with "Officer's Hours". The winners of the project "Our Soldiers" will be revealed on May 26.
