School readiness program will be created
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will implement a school-readiness promotion program for 5-year-old children, within the framework of which teaching-educational and methodological materials for school readiness will be created. The school-readiness program will be aligned with the first-grade program of the National Curriculum. It will focus on the comprehensive development of the child and the formation of school-readiness skills.
Within the framework of this project, international expert Stefan Seifert is visiting Georgia to conduct seminars for Georgian authors. The foreign expert is providing consultations to Georgian specialists regarding the principles of creating a school-readiness curriculum and other important issues.
Preschool education specialists are reviewing and analyzing successful preschool education curricula from Europe and America so that their advanced practices can be adapted to the Georgian reality and utilized in the aforementioned curriculum.
The supporting organizations for the activities planned within the scope of the expert's visit are World Vision and the Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF).
