Entrepreneurship Programs in General and Vocational Education
The introduction and strengthening of educational programs aimed at the development of entrepreneurial skills at the general and vocational education levels constitute a solid foundation for the country's economic development. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is actively working on the development of a methodology based on the principles of learning by doing, which equips adolescents from school age with the skills necessary for survival and development in a modern industrial environment.
Within the framework of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia project "Introduction of Inclusive Education in the Vocational Education and Training System of Georgia," Norwegian experts shared their knowledge on modern principles of teaching entrepreneurship at the general and vocational education levels with Georgian specialists, representatives of the Employers' Association, non-governmental organizations, and entrepreneurship teachers from vocational colleges. The presented concept and materials will assist Georgian specialists in the process of creating a new entrepreneurship module for vocational education.
Along with the national curriculum experts, the specifics of teaching the subject of entrepreneurship in schools were also discussed, and recommendations were prepared regarding the improvement of the subject's teaching methodology.
