Telavi Public School was provided with new electronic learning technologies
The Department of Physics of the Georgian Technical University has handed over modern electronic educational resources to Telavi Public School No. 3. Today, professors from the University's Department of Physics demonstrated virtual models (Georgian language, nature studies, mathematics, physics) and real-virtual experiments at the school, as well as presented distance learning tools. The event was attended by Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, and Archil Prangishvili, Rector of the Georgian Technical University.
According to Tamar Sanikidze, the introduction of electronic educational resources and distance learning methods, especially in regional schools, is of utmost importance. The new programs will enable students to work remotely in the laboratory of the Georgian Technical University directly from their own school and conduct real remote practical work.
The program provided by the Technical University to Telavi Public School No. 3 includes:
- Virtual learning tools;
- Full Georgian language learning course for grades 1-12;
- Mathematics, nature studies, and music for primary classes;
- Physics and mathematics teaching package;
- Real laboratory works;
- Determination of the acceleration of free fall;
- Determination of the moment of inertia;
- Study of the dependence of conductor resistance on geometric parameters.
The real laboratory works are accompanied by descriptions of the relevant theory and methodological guidelines for conducting them, which were also handed over to the school.
Within the framework of the event, Tamar Sanikidze met with principals and teachers of public schools in the Telavi district. During the meeting, the Minister summarized the 2013-2014 academic year, spoke about the innovations implemented in the system and future plans.
