Lia Gigauri met with teachers from Kvemo Svaneti

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri met with public school directors and teachers of Kvemo Svaneti. A similar meeting with the ministry's leadership has never been held in Svaneti before; therefore, the interest and expectations among school representatives were high. Lasha Mkurnalidze, Executive Director of the public organization "School, Family, Society", a member of the coalition "Education for All - Georgia", also participated in the meeting.

During the working meeting, Lia Gigauri, together with the participants, summarized the 2013-2014 academic year and delivered a presentation on the innovations implemented in the system and future plans.

The working meeting proceeded in a question-and-answer format for several hours. Directors and teachers received answers to all their questions. They also had the opportunity to express their opinions and remarks regarding ongoing projects.

There are 11 public schools functioning in the Lentekhi Municipality with 717 students and 223 teachers. All schools are involved in the "Subprogram for School Accessibility", and consequently, all students benefit from transportation services. Public schools of the Lentekhi Municipality participate in various programs and contests implemented by the Ministry. All public schools are provided with internet services.
