Student Employment Project
Giorgi Sharvashidze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, and Otar Abesadze, Advisor to the Minister, held a briefing regarding the employment of students in the general population census project.
As known, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Statistics Office of Georgia, as a result of which students will be employed in the general population census project.
Information meetings were held in all cities of Georgia where higher educational institutions operate. Presentations were delivered regarding the manner in which students will be involved in this project, the types of tasks they will be required to perform, and so on.
Students are participating in the aforementioned project based on the following principle: in accordance with the substance of the memorandum, university faculties have undertaken the obligation to recommend high-achieving students with high academic performance from each faculty. Each recommended student holds a recommendation from the dean of the faculty. By July 31, universities will provide us with the list of recommended students. This list will be handed over to Geostat, and they will be employed in this project.
Quotas were determined according to the number of students enrolled in the universities. If any student is not included in this list of recommended candidates, they are free to register on the website www.hr.gov.ge just like anyone else and participate in the competition. The vacancy will be published by Geostat, and students will be able to upload their resumes. Within the framework of this project, 1620 students recommended by universities nationwide will be employed.
