Vocational students working on the construction of a youth club
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Public College "Spektri" and the Association "Anika". The purpose of the agreement is for the college to support the non-governmental organization working on issues related to children and youth with disabilities in establishing an integrated youth club and free of charge provision of construction works. The cooperation implies the execution of construction works by the college's relevant vocational programs, vocational students, and teachers for the purpose of undertaking learning and industrial practice.
Public College "Spektri" trains personnel in the construction sector, providing them with relevant professional knowledge and ensuring that the teaching process is conducted from both theoretical and practical perspectives. A good example of this is the participation of vocational students and teachers of College "Spektri" in the construction of the Association "Anika's" integrated youth club. Here, students are given the opportunity to maximally demonstrate and realize their capabilities and strengthen their practical skills, which will contribute to their subsequent employment.
Students from the following vocational programs are involved in the club's renovation works: painter, drywall specialist, tiler-finisher, electrician, welder. Ketevan Natriashvili, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, personally inspected the ongoing renovation works today.
In the integrated youth club rehabilitated by vocational students, young people with disabilities and their peers will spend their free time in an interesting and organized manner, have the opportunity to showcase their creative skills, organize exhibitions of their work, and share their experiences and knowledge with one another.
All of the above serves as a prime example of fruitful, noble, and, most importantly, mutually beneficial cooperation between the public and private sectors.
