Training Course for First-Grade Homeroom Teachers
To promote the targeted integration of computers into the educational process, the National Center for Teacher Professional Development of the Ministry is also conducting training sessions for primary grade teachers. Today, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Tamar Sanikidze, visited Rustavi Public School No. 22, where new computers have already been received and training sessions for first-grade homeroom teachers are underway.
Integrating modern technologies into the teaching and learning process starting from the primary level is extremely important. Through computers, first-graders complete assignments and familiarize themselves with various electronic resources. To ensure an interactive and engaging classroom process for students, first-grade homeroom teachers are also undergoing special retraining.
The first-grade teachers' training course, "Introduction of E-Learning," aims to help teachers conduct e-learning in accordance with the National Curriculum and the Teacher Professional Standard.
During the training, teachers cover the following topics:
- Working with the netbook and familiarization with its physical structure
- Working in a text editor
- Using the internet for professional purposes
- E-mail and document exchange/sharing tools
- Presentation software
- Classroom management software
- Preparing ICT-enriched lessons and learning projects
- Implementing and evaluating lessons and learning projects in a 1:1 learning environment
Consultations will continue directly during the educational process, aiming to provide individualized support to teachers at all stages of technology integration in teaching. A trainer from the National Center for Teacher Professional Development and the teacher jointly prepare a lesson plan with relevant electronic learning materials, conduct the lesson in a 1:1 electronic environment, and evaluate the process.
