Georgian scientists will participate in international projects

The meeting was attended by Giorgi Sharvashidze, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia; Thierry Devars, representative of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation; and Oliver Reisner, EU Research Liaison Officer in Georgia. Discussions actively addressed Georgia's association with the "Horizon 2020" programme. At this stage, two non-EU member countries hold associated status in Horizon 2020: Moldova and Israel. We hope that Georgia will become the third country to join this process.
The purpose of the meeting held at the Ministry was to determine the steps Georgia needs to take to formalize this relationship. Upon completing these stages, starting as early as 2015, Georgia will have the opportunity to become a full member country of the programme. As a result, scientists across our country will have access to programmes and significant research funded within the framework of "2020".
