Mikheil Batiashvili: "We have tackled a most significant task โ the comprehensive reform of the education system rather than fragmentary changes, which everyone has seen do not yield results"

Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, presented the details of the changes to be implemented within the framework of the reform to the deputies at the out-of-town meeting of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture, which was held in Borjomi for three days.
At the committee meeting, which was attended by the committee members along with the heads of LEPLs of the Ministry, important issues planned within the framework of the reform were jointly discussed, such as teacher professional development, a safe school, a new exam model, the development of the quality of education, etc.
According to the Minister, it is clear to everyone that fragmentary changes in the system do not yield results; therefore, a complete
transformation of the system is essential, which will drastically improve the quality of education:
"We have tackled a vital task โ the complex reform of the education system rather than fragmentary changes, which, as we have all seen, do not bring results. Our goal is not populist decisions; our goal is such a transformation of the unified system that will ensure the successful future of our children and our country. This is a very difficult process, which requires much discussion and deliberation, but it is without alternative, and we will do this together. In this process, the involvement of all segments and the listening to every critical opinion and piece of advice are essential and must be taken into account," stated Mikheil Batiashvili, who believes that the active participation of all parties in the process of implementing the reform will quickly and positively impact the results.
