"The right path that will transform the educational sector in the country into a leading field" - Jeffrey David Sachs

Professor Jeffrey David Sachs, Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General, delivered a public lecture to TSU students and professors, where he spoke about the government's new education initiative — funding education with 6% of GDP — and stated:
“In the near future, Georgia will be a country where education and knowledge are the driving forces of the economy. Georgia is already visited by numerous tourists, and furthermore, the healthcare system and financial sector are developed at a high level in the country. The government's new approach — directing a large portion of the country's revenues toward education — is the right path that will make the educational sector in the country just as advanced a field as healthcare and tourism. I am very glad that the government has chosen this path, and I am very optimistic about the changes this will bring to Georgia.”
