International Science Olympiads 2019

The selection rounds for the members of the national teams for the 2019 international scientific Olympiads are currently underway. This year, Georgia will be represented by student teams in five disciplines: Chemistry, Physics, Informatics, Mathematics, and Biology. Students are selected based on the results of the third round of this year's National School Olympiad and the selection rounds.
This year, for the first time, mirroring the International Physics Olympiad, a practical round was conducted alongside the theoretical round during the selection of the national physics team, giving students the opportunity to work with physical apparatus and conduct physical experiments.
Based on the results of the selection rounds and the review of appeal applications, the Georgian national teams and reserve rosters will be finalized. The teams will also undergo a preparation phase for the international scientific Olympiads in accordance with established rules.
Following the completion of the training sessions, the Georgian national physics team will participate in the 50th International Physics Olympiad, IPhO 2019 (Tel Aviv, Israel, July 7 โ July 15); the mathematics team in the 60th International Mathematical Olympiad, IMO 2019 (Bath, United Kingdom, July 11 โ July 22); the Georgian informatics team will compete in the 31st International Olympiad in Informatics, IOI 2019 (Baku, Azerbaijan, August 4 โ August 11); the biology team in the 30th International Biology Olympiad, IBO 2019 (Szeged, Hungary, July 14 โ July 21); and the Georgian chemistry team will participate in the 51st International Chemistry Olympiad (Paris, France, July 21 โ July 30).
