Mikheil Batiashvili: "The 'City of Education and Science' in Tbilisi and Batumi will be a hub of knowledge and creativity for our children!"

While delivering a speech at the presentation of the Education and Science City project, Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, spoke about the importance of the comprehensive reform and emphasized that the educational reform, encompassing all areas, will bring about a complete transformation of the system:
"A few days ago, we announced what we have been working on for months. This involves increasing the quality of education in schools, which is directly linked to raising the qualifications and remuneration of teachers. We will create all the conditions for our qualified educators so that their profession is prestigious, and their work is appreciated to the maximum.
As you know, the introduction of the “New School Model” is already underway in more than 50 schools. We will implement significant changes in the educational processes so that teaching ensures not only the transfer of knowledge, but also the development of critical thinking skills in students. This will enable them to successfully meet all the challenges of the 21st century! Naturally, safety in schools is of utmost importance! New, significant steps are planned and underway in this direction, which will yield concrete results in the shortest possible time. The budget for modern infrastructure has been tripled, and this trend will be maintained annually so that our children receive education in a modern, healthy environment, have access to new technologies, and their safety is protected to the maximum.
