A new model for professional education teachers' qualification enhancement has been created
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, with the financial support of the British Government's "Good Governance Fund (GGF)" and the co-participation of the World Bank, is launching a new project entitled "Raising the Qualifications of Vocational Education Teachers". A project of this scale is being implemented in the vocational education system for the first time and aims to maximally promote the career development of vocational teachers, develop motivating mechanisms, and attract new personnel to the system.
According to Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Irina Abuladze, the project will ensure the development of vocational educators, their career growth and advancement, which is yet another confirmation that the Ministry's efforts are fully directed towards raising the qualifications of teachers in schools and vocational institutions in order to ensure a high quality of teaching and learning.
"We are very pleased to cooperate with the Government of Georgia in the direction of vocational education. I believe that this new project will significantly enhance the skills of vocational educators, which will ensure the training of professional personnel and increase their employment opportunities. We look forward to the implementation of the project," noted Mercy Tembon, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Europe and Central Asia.
