Mikheil Batiashvili: "Georgia will be one of the first countries to ensure that its education system transitions to advanced third-generation blockchain technologies."

Within the framework of the education reform, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia is launching a partnership with a major international technology company. As part of the education system reform, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between "Input Output HK Ltd" (IOHK), one of the largest international blockchain companies in the field of technologies, and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. The document was signed by Minister Mikheil Batiashvili and IOHK Chief Executive Officer Charles Hoskinson.
“Blockchain technology is a cutting-edge technology today, which is being implemented across various sectors worldwide in numerous countries. Today, a very important memorandum was signed with the Cardano Group, a global leader in blockchain technologies, which involves the introduction of a blockchain system in the education system. The project will be unique in that Georgia will be one of the first countries to ensure the transition of its education system to advanced third-generation blockchain technologies. I am very pleased that such a company is becoming a supporter of the education system reform through concrete technologies. Preparatory work has already been carried out, and active work on implementation will begin in July, alongside American experts,” stated Mikheil Batiashvili.
IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson positively assessed the cooperation with Georgia, noting that the introduction of modern technologies will help the country overcome existing challenges.
“We are delighted to be working with the Government of Georgia on a range of projects in the fields of business, education, and public services. The strong university sector and the attitude of the Government of Georgia towards this field create all the prerequisites for the country to become an international business hub. We are glad to be part of this process, this ‘journey’. I am confident that together we will develop the blockchain ecosystem in Georgia, which will help people overcome the challenges they face,” stated IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson.
Sharing IOHK's knowledge and experience is vital for Georgia in the process of integration with modern technologies and alignment with the “digital world”. Consequently, the memorandum defines both the areas of cooperation, as well as the principles and conditions.
