Meeting with representatives of the US Embassy

On July 23, Natia Zedginidze-Jishkariani, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, and Nino Chelidze, Director of LEPL International Education Center, together with the heads of the Ministry's Strategic Communication Department and Center employees, held a working meeting with representatives of the United States Embassy. The Embassy was represented at the meeting by Cultural Attaché Julius Tsai, American diplomat Chris Davenport, and English Language Programs Coordinator Lika Gumberidze.
The main topic of the meeting was the English Teaching Assistance Program (Fulbright U.S. Student Program, ETA), which is implemented in Georgia with the involvement of American teachers. Starting from 2020, this program will continue through the cooperation of the Embassy and the International Education Center and will acquire an even larger scale. The main beneficiaries of the program will be regional universities.
The parties discussed issues of future cooperation and outlined action plans. Following the completion of the working process and the agreement on the program conditions and deadlines, an official memorandum will be signed in the near future.
