Meeting with Representatives of the "European Network Remembrance and Solidarity"

Levan Kharatishvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, held a meeting with the heads of the "European Network Remembrance and Solidarity". The meeting focused on the expansion of future cooperation between Georgia and the Network, including the possibility of implementing joint projects, as well as Georgia's involvement and participation in exhibitions and symposia planned by the Network in the future.
Within the framework of the working visit of the leadership of the "European Network Remembrance and Solidarity", meetings are also planned at higher educational institutions and museums. The representatives of the Network will visit museums and historical sites located in Tbilisi, as well as the Joseph Stalin State Museum in Gori.
Georgia joined the "European Network Remembrance and Solidarity" with observer status in August 2019. This decision was made by the Network's Board, making Georgia the 4th country with observer status, following Albania, Austria and the Czech Republic. The organization was established in 2005 based on an agreement between five European states (Poland, Germany, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia) affected by totalitarian regimes in the 20th century. As a result, a declaration was signed, which implies the assessment and analysis of the consequences of the wars, dictatorial governance, and ideologically motivated repressions of the past century. Over the years, several other countries have joined the Network with both full member and observer status.
