Summary event of the implementation of vocational training and retraining programs was held
Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, attended the year-end summary meeting of the implementation of vocational training and retraining programs.
Throughout 2019, nearly 800 trainees were enrolled in short-term vocational training/retraining programs with state funding in the fields of construction, information technology, tourism, services, manufacturing, and processing.
During the meeting, legal entities implementing the vocational training and retraining program discussed achieved results, existing challenges, and future plans.
The development of the adult education system began in 2019 upon the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. To simplify the service delivery process, a special electronic platform http://tvet.emis.ge/ was created, through which any interested provider (including the private sector) can apply to obtain the right to implement short-term vocational training/retraining programs. Additionally, the registration of trainees for vocational training/retraining programs is conducted electronically on the following platform: vet.emis.ge.
By 2020, it is planned to involve more than 50 providers within the framework of vocational training and retraining, and to retrain over 3,000 beneficiaries in the fields of construction, tourism, IT technologies, textiles, and energy.
