The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia is launching the piloting process of the SELFIE self-reflection tool at the general and vocational education levels.
SELFIE is an electronic self-assessment questionnaire created by the European Commission, which assesses the extent to which educational institutions (schools and colleges) utilize digital technologies in the teaching and learning process. The questionnaire statements cover areas such as leadership, infrastructure, teacher training, and student digital competence.
In connection with the commencement of the piloting of the SELFIE tool, a webinar was held at the joint initiative of representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, the European Training Foundation (ETF), and the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) with representatives of educational institutions implementing vocational programs, partner private companies, the LEPL National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, and the LEPL National Center for Teacher Professional Development.
The meeting was opened by Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, together with Nino Kochishvili, representative of the European Commission Office in Georgia, who spoke about the importance of the SELFIE tool at the vocational education level.
Within the framework of the webinar, participants became thoroughly acquainted with the objectives of the assessment and practically tested the instructions for completing the questionnaire.
