On November 14-16, the "Museum Night" event will be held in a digital format

On November 14-16, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia, the "Museum Night" event will be held. Within the framework of the event, 50 museums will offer visitors educational and entertaining activities remotely, in a digital format. Specifically, online exhibitions, virtual and live tours, presentations of educational programs and curators' blogs, video screenings of interesting stories about exhibits, and more will be organized.
"Museum Night" has been held annually since 2005 under the patronage of the Council of Europe in its member states. In subsequent years, the event gained a broad scale and spread to many countries around the world. In 2011, Georgia also joined the initiative. It is noteworthy that alongside the legal entities of public law under the Ministry's system, private and municipal museums are also actively involved in the event. The main goal of the event is to raise public awareness and increase the accessibility of museums and the cultural heritage pieces preserved within them.
"Museum Night" is usually held in May within the framework of the week dedicated to International Museum Day, but this year, taking into account the restrictions caused by the global pandemic and the recommendation of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), November 14-16 has been designated as the date for holding the "Museum Night" event.
